They believe in morals, but telling the truth doesn't seem to be a moral value. It seem to be more important to communicate misinformation than to communicate the truth. They believe that the ends justify the means. Like Al Franken, the brilliant political mind, says Those who lie are doomed to believe what they say.... posted by: WhyNot (reply) post date: 12.06.04 (1:54 pm) Reply to: AutumnSnow "...they end up using candy bar wrappers as condoms." Exactly. You're spot on. "... that touching a person's genitals "can result in pregnancy,..." Fuck me dead, LOL. Soon, it will be like my ex-wife's schizophrenic father discourse, who thought he could impregnate women just by praying and thinking of them through the intervention of god. Ah hem... what century are we living in again? posted by: whoisjohngalt (reply) post date: 12.06.04 (5:37 pm) Reply to: WhyNot "... who thought he could impregnate women just by praying and thinking of them through the intervention of god." Wow...just........wow. ;) posted by: WhyNot (reply) post date: 12.06.04 (7:28 pm) Reply to: whoisjohngalt "Wow...just........wow. ;)" LOL, the saddest thing is that to him, it wasn't even some kind of warped fantasy about sex: he truly thought fecondation was something god could achieve at some christian nirvana level, and he was the messiah in charge of the deed. One time I reluctantly attended a partial family lunch gathering at my ex-wife's house. "Partial" because my ex had 11 brothers and sisters, most of them married and having produced a truckload of brats, and I feared those family gatherings like the plague. But this time it was just HIM, his wife (whith whom I got on quite well - in fact, she was the only sane one in the family), my ex and I naturally, and one of the sisters/brothers with his spouse but without the rugrats, so I thought I'd do my duty. One important couple missing was Margie (one of my ex's sisters, younger by 2 years) and her husband, about the only couple which, like me and my ex, didn't have children. After the before-the-meal prayer during which I said nothing and in fact prayed HE wouldn't notice it and go off his brain, the jaws crunched away while small attempts of conversation sparked here and there, except for him who as usual said not a word. Only at one time, out of the blue, he turned towards his wife and muttered: "it's about bloody time Margie got in a family way. I'll work on it", then returned to his profound meditation state. Funnier still though is the fact that it wasn't that long after that Margie got pregnant, LOL. By the time my ex and I separated, Margie had 3 kids. That was some 10 years ago and I never kept contact. She's prolly got a whole squadron by now. |
